Where the General Fund’s departmental spending goes in FY2026. Police is the largest single department; departmental expenditures total $31,566,937 before transfers.
Reconciling to the General Fund total: departmental expenditures of $31,566,937, plus transfers of $2,610,660 and capital transfers of $4,694,544, equal the adopted General Fund budget of $38,872,141. The “all other departments & contingency” line is a computed remainder — the departmental total less the departments the book itemizes above — not a figure printed as such in the book.

Source. Every figure on this page is taken from the Annual Budget, City of Gainesville, Georgia, for the Fiscal Year Beginning July 1, 2025, covering the fiscal year July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026.
Adopted status. The City Manager’s memo presented a Recommended Budget on May 15, 2025; the book’s summary tables label FY2026 “Adopted,” and Resolution AR-2025-05, adopted July 1, 2025, appropriated the amounts shown here. Fund balances are the book’s projections, not audited actuals.
A discrepancy inside the book. The book’s Budget Forecast table (p. 68) shows Capital Improvements at $55,226,383 and a gross total of $293,573,445. The Budget Comparison by Fund (pp. 63–64) and the Combining Statement (p. 65) agree with each other on $53,117,503 for Capital Improvements and a $291,464,565 gross total — this page follows those two tables.
No ACFR supplement. The city’s FY2025 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report on the University of Georgia’s TED portal was unavailable when this page was prepared, so no ACFR figures were used to supplement the budget book.
Unofficial. This is an unofficial demonstration dashboard, part of the Peach State Pulse project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or published by the City of Gainesville, Georgia.
